Absentia Lunae “Vorwarts

ATMF

Yeah, I still remember this Italian black metal trio after their successful previous albums, which I reviewed back then, and which I like a lot, I still remember.

Here they presented to us their last effort so far, called “Vorwarts”. Seven tracks of dark and negative black metal, with some avant-garde touches. I listen to this album with an interest, what I like most of all were those tempo-changes, which comes from fast rhythms down to slow tunes, and main thing – when those there were slow tunes – musical structure weren’t changed, i.e. it was the same obscure and dark music.

Each song will force your mind to suffer and think about your end of life. Really good tempo-changes and atmosphere, the atmosphere or some abstract darkness and deep thoughts inside your mind. All in all this is not some kind of typical black metal, or avant-garde black metal, but this is something “new”, of course there are a lot of bands who playing the same way, but since I’m not too much into this style – so I couldn’t listen to their music. But, from the other hand – we have got here pretty good stuff, from every side. Just imagine (if you didn’t listen to this album still, which was released back in November, 3th) – 1) you will hear avant-garde yet abstract tunes, slow down melodies and some disharmonic sounds, 2) after aforementioned stuff you’ll hear fast, a bit raw and furious black metal rhythms, which will bring your moods into deep courts of your mind, 3) two types of vocals – screams and nice clear one. Press-release says – Martial Futurist Black Metal; what can I say – I just must to agree with this, ‘coz I have no any facts which could show another note. Album titled track was deeply impressed for me – it’s really angry and furious, with pretty good black metal moods and chords! And the last track, called L’arrivée is made in the way of some industrial or something like that, because there wasn’t any “music”, so as for me that track was not more than something like “outro”. And yes, comparisons with early Thorns and etc are pretty successful, so I can only add – this is great album which should be heard by fans of dark and obscure martial and futurist black metal vortex (yeah, I meant vortex – ‘coz this is real black metal vortex! Neither typical nor radical, but it still into black metal way). Find this stuff and listen to it ASAP, get your dose of nagativity! Recommends!
