Please introduce yourself.
We are Ceremonia, a Colombian-French quartet composed by vocalist/guitarist Christian Botero, drummer Matthieu Garin, lead guitarist Youri Benaïs and bass player Arthur Leparc.

When your band was created?
The band was created in Paris, France in 2011.

What the style do you play?
We don’t really define ourselves in one style only, basically we play the music that we like to hear, Extreme Metal mainly based in Atmospheric Doom, Black and Death sound.

How could you describe your music by several words?
In three words: Loneliness, depression, suffering! We think it resumes perfectly the idea of our music.

What is the main theme of your lyrics?
The lyrical topic is something that we don’t like to talk about, we prefer to let everybody read the lyrics and make their own feelings, it’s really more personal but to resume they explore deepest, sad, negative and morbid feelings of the human being.

What would you like to achieve with the band activity?
Capture our maximum creativity by making sounds and landscapes without any compromise ! Of course we want to make this art able to reach as sincere and real as possible a lot of people.

How many gigs you have played so far and maybe you visit another countries with concerts?
Actually for the moment we only had some gigs in France but we are planning to do some shows in Europe and visiting South America, we have some offers but we are waiting to do the right decisions and not lose any money.

Is there anything very important about your band what SHOULD know fans and labels?
First of all we are searching a label to distribute our first full length and our next release currently in writing process that we hope to finish and the end of the year. To our fans you can contact us, buy and listen our music in streaming here:

What the formats you would like to see your releases, CD, Vinyl, Tape…? And how do you see future of physical releases?
Mainly CD and Digital but we love Vinyl (some band members collect stuff) but it costs a lot to manufacture and at the moment it’s not profitmaking for the band. We come from the last generation that possibly knew what it was going to the store to buy a record so we always will see future in physical releases. There’s nothing like open the album, see the artwork, the lyrics, credits and mainly hear the songs in high quality, not shitty sound.

When you will get label deal, would you like to help to the label with promotion from your side, or you want label do all without your help?
Of course we will continue promoting, we believe that you need to work with a label hand in hand as a team to do the best. Music business has changed and the budget is not anymore like the old days of rock stars and astronomical mounts of money. In any case you have have to work really hard to achieve something.

What’s your reaction towards negative opinions about your music?
The negative opinions are good if they are constructive, we are not interested in negative opinions just to be negative. Anyway without being arrogant, we just do what we want to do without worrying about the rest, we aren’t egocentric guys but we know we want to do. People have different tastes and we can’t please everyone.

And last question, how do you like our webzine, do you have some remarks towards its look or functionality?
We like your webzine diversity?
Speaking about remarks towards the look or functionality we don’t’ see any problem, is easy and quick to find any info (some webzines are really good but their functionality aren’t no really dynamic), great work! Many thanks to make room for the upcoming bands! For all who are interested in our stuff, please contact us and don’t hesitate to share our music with your friends, it’s important that music can be shared.
