Please introduce yourself.

Greetings from Germany! We are In Dying Times and symphonic metalcore is our specialty. My name is Niclas and I am writing in behalf of my bandmates.

When your band was created?

We started out in January 2011.

What the style do you play?

A mix of metalcore and thrash metal. In the last months, we began to introduce symphonic metal into our music.

How could you describe your music by several words?

The colorful variety of modern metalcore, classic thrash metal,  and a huge charge symphonic metal is reflected in our songs. Profound, rebellious and critical texts wrapped in soft keyboard passages, heavy riffs, thundering bass and brutal drums waiting to be a part of you.

What is the main theme of your lyrics?

The criticism of modern society in all its variations.

What would you like to achieve with the band activity?

Having fun with the music, making people think about the lyrics and maybe a bit of fame and fortune.

How many gigs you have played so far and maybe you visit another countries with concerts?

As of now, we had 5 gigs in Germany, but there are more to come!

Is there anything very important about your band what SHOULD know fans and labels?

There have been no scandals yet, so no, not really. Anything there is to know can either be found here or in front of the stage.

What the formats you would like to see your releases, CD, Vinyl, Tape…? And how do you see future of physical releases?

In any case, CD, maybe vinyl (it’s pretty cool) and for download.

When you will get label deal, would you like to help to the label with promotion from your side, or you want label do all without your help?

We would appreciate assistance in terms of promotion, but always have a say regarding any band-related business.

What’s your reaction towards negative opinions about your music?

That’s okay because it’s part of the business. Music is a matter of taste.

And last question, how do you like our webzine, do you have some remarks towards its look or functionality?

Your site is well-organized and stylized, all in all a pleasurable experience, so no criticism here.

The path to fame and fortune is not easy. Looking for a rehearsal room and scraping together the very first equipment seemed like an endless quest. But finally in January 2011 we were ready to start: Everything necessary had been acquired and a room was found. The cast was made, the tasks were distributed and finally we agreed on a name: DYING IN TIMES! We could begin to write our own songs, playing them together and dreaming of success. And since then, not only our equipment but also our experience has increased a lot. Now, over three years later, we have learned that success is the result of a good mix of luck, skill and (mainly) sweat. So, back to work ……

On 12/01/2012, we organized a small concert to introduce our first songs a small audience. The response was more than positive and we knew immediately that a CD was needed.
