Please introduce yourself.
We are Earthen Tongue.

When your band was created?
Winter 14/15

What the style do you play?
We play a hybrid of black, doom, sludge and death metal.

How could you describe your music by several words?
Heavy, Loud, Ugly

What is the main theme of your lyrics?
The lyrics on the demo are a narrative surrounding the event of a deviant burial. Deviant burial is an anthropological term used to describe a non-christian or non-traditional burial. Usually reserved for suspected witches or vampires, they were buried with their mouthes full of stones and their limbs broken(among other things) to prevent them from coming back to life.

What would you like to achieve with the band activity?
We just want to have some fun and travel.

How many gigs you have played so far and maybe you visit another countries with concerts?
Being a new band, we haven’t played a ton of shows yet, but we are shaping up to have a pretty busy summer. A handful of local shows are booked and we are planning a tour in the southwest US.
We would love to tour in Europe.

What the formats you would like to see your releases, CD, Vinyl, Tape…? And how do you see future of physical releases?
Tapes and vinyl would be our preference. I think there will always be some sort of physical artifact to go along with music. Digital releases are great and easy, but I think there will always be a market for vinyl, tapes, etc.

When you will get label deal, would you like to help to the label with promotion from your side, or you want label do all without your help?
We don’t mind doing promotional type stuff. The label would ideally bring experience to the table in that regard. But I wouldn’t say it would be ONLY their responsibility to promote our band.

What’s your reaction towards negative opinions about your music?
I’ve been making music for a long time, and nobody has liked most of what I’ve ever done. And yet I’m still here doing it. So I guess it doesn’t phase me. I appreciate constructive criticism, but ‘haters’ or whatever are nothing to me.

And last question, how do you like our webzine, do you have some remarks towards its look or functionality?
I like that AHAB and Paradise Lost are “Popular Today”. But yeah, everything looks good and works well.
