Interview with Mikael Karlsson, frontman and bass player of the Swedish Thrash metal band, Inflikted.
Hi Mikael, how are you?
Hi I am fine, finally I have a free week from work so I am happy rehearsing all week.
Tell me when Inflikted was founded.
Inflikted was founded in 2011 by me and drummer Fredrik “Gardan” Gard
Last year you have released the album entitled as the band name. What can you tell me about it?
Well it was our debut album, has a lot really great old school thrash songs on it that are real neckbreakers. It also contains a few surprises here and there. But mostly if you like bands like Venom, Metallica’s Kill ’em all and Sodom you will be blown away by our music.
Who mainly write the lyrics?
I mainly write the lyrics but Vardan (lead guitarist) has written the kick ass song called “Art of Hatred”.
What are the lyrical themes?
Well I usually write about stuff that’s on my mind, some lyrical themes are from movies I like or books. But mostly I have a lot of punkish angst in my heart so I always like to raise my middle-finger to those in control over society.
Are you preparing for a new album soon?
We are working on a EP now that we are gonna begin recording in November gonna be great, Our newest member Cristian Abarca is thrash riff machine. Im so glad we found the dude him and Vardan work like a bow and arrow together. Expect this EP to be more aggressive than the debut album.
Are you going to tour this year?
We just finished a eastern-Europe/Balkan tour that was fuckin’ great the fans in the Balkans are insane. I send out my love to ’em.
Do you have a message for the fans?
Yeah keep drinking beers, have sex, headbang ,mosh and always tell the corporate-sluts that run the world to fuuuuuuck oooooofffff!
