Mork is a one-man Norwegian Black metal band, founded around 2004 by Thomas Eriksen. This year was released the EP entitled ‘’Fortid Og Fremtid’’ and soon might be released a new album but about this will answer Thomas himself.

Hails! I am busy these days wrapping up the new Mork-album. A few last details and it is on it’s way to the printers. Very exiting times. I am very pleased with this album and hope others will like it too!

Tell me when did Mork was founded?
I started the band in 2004 when I still were living in my childhood home at Isebakke, Halden. Isebakke eventually became the title of the debut.

The debut album was released in 2013 entiled ”Isebakke”. How the recordings were going?
That album got made pretty easily from start to finish. I had been visiting a friend up in the deep norwegian forrest, and Darkthrone rehearsed in his basement. After playing a bit on Nocturno Culto’s old Gibson Explorer and being in that room I got very inspired. So, I went straight back into my studio and made “Isebakke”. There and then I decided on how Mork’s music should sound.

What can you tell me about the EP released this year, ”Fortid Og Fremtid”?
This is a very limited supply-release, 100 numbered copies. The EP is made out of 3 old re-recorded songs, one live-rehearsal-track and a brand new song from the upcoming new album. “Fortid og Fremtid” means; “Past and Future” and the EP represent the musical history of Mork, from the first demo to the new album.
1601422_699064463540549_9107207012649604883_n Are you going to release new materials soon?
Mork will participate in a split-vinyl soon, on a german label. And the new album “Den Vandrende Skygge” is soon ready for printing. It will be true atmospherical norwegian black metal in the best sence of the term! I am very proud of this album. All interested need to check in now and then for updates.

Who mainly writes the lyrics?
It is a one-man-band, I do everything from writing to recording and design.

What are the lyrical themes?
Death, darkness, anti-religion, norwegian nature and mystique, belief in the self and other things that falls into my blackened head.

Any influences?
Musically I am very inspired by the early black metal-albums by Darkthrone and Burzum. I see my music as a homage or tribute to those early efforts. Lyrically I get very inspired by the Norwegian nature, my own feelings and old lores.

Are there any shows confirmed for this year?
Nothing at this time, but I am hoping for some shows soon! We are probably going on a tour of America next year, but we want to do more gigs before this. If we get a good deal, we will gladly play anywhere.

Do you have a message for the Mork fans?
If there are any fans reading this, I want to express my gratitude for your support! We do have a webpage but mainly use our facebook.

Thank you Thomas, it was my pleasure, cheers!
Thank you for the interest and support! And good luck in the future! Keep supporting metal! Hails & Horns!
