What do you do when you get fired by your boss via Whatsapp? In case of Markus “Makka” Freiwald and Bernd “Bernemann” Kost, both now ex-Sodom, you don’t cry a single tear and start creating music, more precisely powerful Ruhrpott thrash metal. If you’re not familiar with this term, Rohrpott is region in Germany, where bands like Sodom, Destruction or Kreator, and in 2018 Bonded were born. Chris Tsitsis (ex-Suicidal Angels), Marc Hauschild and Ingo Bajonczak complete the quintet.

How much Sodom is in Bonded? A question that not only I should have asked myself. To be honest a little bit of Sodom is in every Ruhrpott band. But Bonded has much more to offer. They play a perfect balanced powerful thrash metal with all kinds of elements in it, not to mention the Bay Area influences. The best example is the title track with guest vocal appearance from Bobby “The Blitz” Ellsworth (Overkill).

“Rest in Violence” is a wonderful way of coping with the past. I hope to hear more from Bonded in the future.

Release date: January 17th, 2020

I‘m from Graz (Austria) and music is one of my passion since I was a kid. Growing up in the 80s and 90s with some Rockmusic loving parents the path was set. I for myself played in several bands - from death metal to progrock and currently as a one man black metal project.
