Ambition is good, especially when they are backed by deeds. Young band from Vancouver, BC CRNKSHFT have a lots of them, but they are also ok with deeds. Their next EP Crnkshft’ is the best proof of it.

Two years ago the band released their debut album with laconic named ‘Hard Fucking Rock’ (H.F.R.) and shared stages with such bands like Prong, Grim Reaper, Lordi and The Veer Union. So now, two years later the time have come for the new album, produced by Grahn (Metallica, Hedley, Montley Crue, Bon Jovi).

Crnkshft’ includes four songs, full of energy, heavy enough and quite melodic. But their main property is catchiness. CRNKSHFT, influenced by such bands like Alice In Chains, Pantera, Godsmack и Five Finger Death Punch took all the best from them, so it is hard to talk about a genre, which the band play. Here can be heard alternative metal, groove, melody and breakdowns.

Vocalist Shane Jolie says: “This EP is pseudo political, but also has songs about heartache and emotions, it’s not a story from start to finish, and each song has its own message. It’s an EP to show the world who we are and what we’re all about. My writing is dark, ideas came from depression and anger, sometimes when I’m happy, but mostly not and it’s still very true to this day. I want people to take whatever they can from the listening experience of our new EP. Music always helped me out of my funks and I want CRNKSHFT to do the same. Let it be accessible to all people and all feelings.”

Well, this EP really will hardly leave someone indifferent.

‘Crnkshft’ will be released on March, 24.
