“The Entombment of Chaos” is the perfect sacrifice to the ancient gods of death metal. Skeletal Remains are able to create their own style by reawakening the spirit of classic old school death metal. This is a tribute to the great ones like Pestilence, Morbid Angel, Monstrosity, Obituary or Cannibal Corpse, just listen to “Congregation of Flesh” and you know what I mean. On their third album they have finally mixed everything together and created their own style.

Another standout track is “Dissectasy” with its perfect balance between thrash metal and stomping everything to the ground death metal ala Obituary.

All soli are played with technical raffinesse and the ugly melodies split the eardrum.

An older metalhead could say that under this shiny armour there is nothing we haven’t heard yet. That’s true but the interpretation and the good modern production makes fun to listen to. Skeletal Remains provide good reinforcement for an already very strong modern old school death metal scene.
