Hello Irfan, how are you?
Hi, I’m good, a lot of things going on with the release of our new album “Rot”.

A few words about when Sanctrum was formed.
Sanctrum was formed back in 1999 but we started this version of the band when I joined in 2004. Alex joined the band in 2012 and this is how Sanctrum looks today.

This year you have released your second album ”Rot”. Tell me about it.
“Rot” is our second full length album and our best work to date. We recorded ten awesome songs with our good friend Lawrence Mackrory (Darkane, F.K.Ü) in our hometown of Uppsala. We are really pleased with the album, it became everything we wanted. Great songs, amazing production and a cover that matches it! And then we heard from Carlo at WormHoleDeath Records and he wanted to release it so everything has worked out really good.

Did the album receive good reviews?
So far we have received some really good reviews. That shows that we are doing something right.

How the recordings were going on the first album released in 2008 ”In Harm’s Way”?
We recorded “In Harm’s Way” with another good friend, Carl Wikman, also in our hometown. That was a long time ago and the only thing I can remember is that it went pretty smooth with a couple of mishaps along the way.

What are the lyrical themes? It is mentioned that some lyrics are into Bosnian, right?
We have various of themes on the lyrics but we focus on things that are happening in the world and things that have happened to us. I am originally from Bosnia and bosnian is a pretty metal sounding language so it came naturally to try to incorporate it in our music. On our EP “Autumn” we have some lyrics on bosnian but nothing on our new album “Rot”, but we have two songs about the war in Bosnia on it.

Did you start writing new materials?
We haven’t started working on some new songs yet, we are busy planning shows and everything else we have to do with “Rot” first.

How do you see Sanctrum fans?
We have a range of different types of fans, I can’t really put a finger on a typical Sanctrum-fan except that they all have us in common and that means that they like good music.

A message for the fans?
