We are Slanderus, a progressive metal band from Ontario, California.
When your band was created?
January of 2008
What the style do you play?
Progressive metal
How could you describe your music by several words?
Heavy, melodic, original, creative, not typical, variety of sounds and influences.
What is the main theme of your lyrics?
Mostly metaphorical and philosophical.
What would you like to achieve with the band activity?
To create the best live shows anyone has ever seen and take the band as far as we can go!
How many gigs you have played so far and maybe you visit other countries with concerts?
Since our first gig in September of 2009 we’ve played almost 100 shows give or take. We try to play shows as much as possible.
Is there anything very important about your band what SHOULD know fans and labels?
We have our own identity and don’t follow musical trends. We do what we want, how we want to do it. I believe real fans can see when a band is truly authentic.
What the formats you would like to see your releases, CD, Vinyl, Tape…? And how do you see future of physical releases?
CD releases are always great, this day in age it seem digital media is the way to go (Amazon, iTunes, Google Play, etc).
When you will get label deal, would you like to help to the label with promotion from your side, or you want label do all without your help?
We always prefer to do as much things ourselves as possible but we would welcome help from a label. As long as everything gets approved by us before it goes out.
What’s your reaction towards negative opinions about your music?
Well everyone has their own tastes in music, if someone doesn’t like our music that’s too bad. Hopefully we can change their mind one day if they come to a show but it’s not something we dwell on.
