I had a chat with Ihsahn, Emperor’s mastermind, about his new solo album Amr who he have talked about the diversity of the album, having Opeth‘s Fredrik Akesson as guest guitar player on ”Arcana Imperii” song, Australian tour and other touring plans for the summer. He was also asked if Emperor will release a new album someday and explaining the reasons why this won’t happen: ”What bands do you know that reformed after 15 years or maybe 20 years and fuck yes, it was just as amazing as we remember it”, stating that bands today cannot release an album as in the early days and comparing Judas Priest‘s new release Firepower which got back to their roots, as example.
