They embodied the raw, untamed vigor of the Germanic tribes-warriors clad in furs, wielding iron, and driven by a primal spirit that echoed through the shadowed forests of the north. Yet, they were also the unexpected continuators of the Roman Empire, inheriting its crumbled marble and shattered aqueducts, adapting its laws and culture into something new amidst the ruins.
