Clearly if you do not know what pure original Norwegian black metal is and you are eager to learn about it, one priest: MYRHOLT, one gospel: “Sjelebot”!!!

Right in his boots and faithful to his favorite musical style, Ole Alexander Myrholt continues to hit us with excellent Black Metal.

One year after “Solens soenn og maanens datterMyrholt adds one more brick to the wall of the Norwegian Old School black metal. Oh yes, we are back to the origins of this musical style such as LPs from WINDIR or SATYRICON (first period).

Here, no make-up worthy from a B-movie, no burning upside down crosses surrounded by skulls, no immolation on stage. Just a clever Norwegian musician which performs himself. All instruments, and for whom black metal is and remains black metal.

Be careful, however, no “modern” sound, the man wants to be a practitioner, even a missionary of the old school style. Preaching for its followers, “Sjelebot” is the new chapter which completes its journey through a sulphurous music.

Difficult to claim which song should be the flagship one, the whole LP is full of really good songs. They are effective and punchy! The melodies are catchy, staying in the head. “Hamingia” published in acoustic version on the previous album appears again in electric version.

His new opus should be the first step of any initiatory journey through the pure traditional Norwegian black metal from the origins with this particular sound recognizable among all.

Clearly if you do not know what pure original Norwegian black metal is and you are eager to learn about it, one priest: MYRHOLT, one gospel: “Sjelebot“!!! No need to argue!

If you like this LP, listen WINDIR1184” and SATYRICONDark Medieval Times“.
