When I saw the name I immediately cottoned on to this band! Well, probably coz I’m old profane and everything what has something to do with profanation is close to my heart Then I heard music and… OK, I’ll explain you everything later. Now I begin from the beginning. Band was formed in 2005 and if we’ll don’t count two changes in 2006 plays all the time in the same line-up. Anyway, in 2009 three of them created another band called KAULA. There our friends play Experimental Black Metal (I have no idea how much experimental it is coz I never heard their music). But here in PROFANAL they create pure, old-school Death Metal! Anyway, the base of both bands is Livorno. This port on Ligurian Sea hasn’t as on Italian conditions especially long history – even if there’re some connotations with Roman Empire.

In the city live a little less than 160.00 people, so it’s for sure that it has some economic, educational, cultural meaning. That’s rather local, but… However, one of important culture’s areas is music. And here we gave clear connotation with PROFANAL. I’m not sure if all residents of Livorno are proud of the fact that PROFANAL comes just from their city, but these of them who have something to do with Metal surely are or at least should be!!! Band since 2005 released two demos (“Demo 2007” and “Rotten Bodies” – 2010), three splits (“Two Morbid Ways To Die” with FUNERAL WHORE, “United In Death” with OBSCURE INFINITY – 2001 and “3C 273/Close the Coffin” with INTO DARKNESS – last year) and two albums (“Black Chaos” – 2012 and mentioned above). And I’ll tell you something. If on all these stuffs there’s such music like I hear now than I have to kill someone to get it all – it’s mostly about splits which was released in limited edition and… So you already know that I’m in love with this band! Now I’ll try to explain why, even if it’s almost impossible to explain why we feel this and not something other…

On “Supreme Fire” we have nine songs of, as I told before, classic, old-school Death Metal. Our Italian friends don’t play in some melodies, technical twists and turns and just go forward with their destruction! It doesn’t of course mean that it’s technically poor what we listen to here! There’re some “tastes”, but technique is always only a slave of brutality. Mentioned “tastes” are about both guitars (more hearable) and bass. They’re also quite often. But you must listen to carefully to notice them. By the way, even than there’s no fuckin’ way to think that we have to do with something else than Death Metal! Otherwise riffs are heavy, sharp and uncompromised. Drum’s work is like a blast. It doesn’t mean that Nicco plays whole the time with speed of the light! Even contrary – there’s a lot of relative slow and calm playing. It’s also (just like in the case of guitars and bass) various and technically advanced. But as I already said: on the first place here is BRUYALITY, BRUTALITY in good old Swedish style! And one more thing, if somebody will don’t take a look on line-up than will never guess that about vocals take care a girl! Believe me, if I can after 27th listening of “Supreme Fire” hardly find some, let’s call it, girl’s elements in her growling than… I don’t say that I’m some fuckin’ alpha and omega, but almost 30 years of listening to Metal made my ears sensitive for such things.

OK, I go to listen to it 28th time and you do what you want. But the best will be if you’ll join me!!!
