Militant
Go Fuck Yourself Productions

Do you know the motto “Listening heavy metal at low volume it’s like fucking with no pleasure”? Totally suits for Turbocharged. A loud and raw machine of death-thrash-black-heavy metal that will bang your head with his fifth (and best album) ‘Militant’. Formed in Sweden by the mastermind Ronnie ‘Ripper’ Olson (bass and vocals, ex member of legendary Gehennah), Freddie Fister (drums) and Old Nick (guitars), the trio like to mix genres and sound, playing something that is for sure original and almost unique.

With a modern sound (powerful, low tones and very compressed) that combines death, thrash, black, but also some punk and hard rock elements, Turbocharged forged an enjoyable album that will glad every lover of extreme metal.

Every song brights and has his mark, with a lot of variations and tempo changes, thanks to the great work of the drums and a pounding bass that (for a once) is not overwhelmed by the guitars. The voice of ‘Ripper’ is expressive and hits the target in the refrains that rules the hearth of the album in ‘Where the Sodomites Never Burned’, ‘Demonization’, ‘Dead Flesh Monument’, ‘Massive Worldwide Armageddon’ (Praise your god as mankind shatters MASSIVE WORLDWIDE ARMAGEDDON!!!) and the title-track.

The lyrics are about anti-religious, pseudo-satanic and violence stuff: something predictable and ‘old’ but that suits the sound.

‘Militant’ is a good and fun album with a bunch of excellent song, far from the masterpiece or something of fundamental, but a solid work for a band that finally is trying to do something out of the box.
