US Psychedelic Doomsters Abel Blood sign with Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records for the physical CD release of their highly acclaimed 2023 digital album, Arrival of the Waves. Known for their hypnotic and crushing blend of heavy psych, doom, and atmospheric soundscapes, the New England-based trio has been making waves since their formation in 2021, drawing comparisons to Isis, Melvins, Black Sabbath, Kyuss, Pink Floyd and Sleep.
Formed by Adam Joslyn (No Thanks, Buck 55) on vocals, guitar, and bass, Jim DeLuca (No Thanks) on drums, and Malcolm Salls on guitar, bass and vocals, Abel Blood deliver an unrelenting wall of sound both in the studio and on stage. Their live performances have been described as louder than Motörhead, an immersive and overpowering experience that leaves audiences spellbound.
Originally recorded in spring 2023 at Loud Sun Studio with Ben Rogers and mastered by Eric Sauter at Blackheart Sound, Arrival of the Waves is an ambitious sonic journey. Weaving hauntingly atmospheric guitar passages with crushingly heavy riffs, the album bridges the gap between psychedelic transcendence and raw, punishing intensity.
