What A raw cold sound….. I am discovering  an excellent one man black metal band that raises form the eastern lands of the world, I don’t want to confuse you but,it’s really a ‘’kvlt’’ sense in the air right now. Perhaps most of you are thinking about some Scandinavian Trve Norwegian Black Metal band. No, I am introducing you the rawest and the most black metal project from Taiwan. Surprised??? You shouldn’t be. I know that some of you can’t forget the early old school black metal era, me too I am a big fanatic of the early black metal era. Probably you’re asking yourself now that what the hell of connection may be between Scandinavia and Taiwan… don’t worry I am not going to introduce you any ‘’Exotic Black Metal’’ dirty project. This connection is called Inferno Requiem. No. What are you going to listen is a pure kathartic of Trve Black Metal with a torturous sense of DSBM.

I have listened with pleasure and I have enjoyed the rawness and the demonic blasting drums of ‘’Gloomy Night Stories’’, and to be quiet correct with myself and you too, I am sure this album is strongly influenced by Scandinavian Black Metal Scene. The artist behind this project Fog, has created a unique style of his own. I am not trying to say things in vein. I am explaining better on this matter.

What makes this album a unique masterpiece is not the fact that you can feel a cold blizzard atmosphere from the north, it’s the right combination of trve Norwegian Black Metal with DSBM touches. The right formula to gain end enable a unique sound.

I can add here also the raw guitar sound that reminds of Burzum guitar sound, the rawness is almost the same, but the dynamic and the rhythm is completely another thing, the energy and the rhythm is furious in the vein of Immortal. It’s an album which offers the right essence of the black kvlt.

I am enjoyining a track entitled ‘’Distant Wailing in the Tunnel’’. It’s a track that will blow your mind. An excellent work on drums as I said before. Fog is a demon unleashed to bring you down to hell. Hellish, blizzardous atmospheres from the north. It’s raw, aggressive, leading the track through the grim tunnel of pain. I can feel the pain in the vocal side, screams that come from the end of the tunnel.

Another track which is a killer terroristic ‘’souffrance’’ track, eternal screaminf suffering screaming vocals, again here you will find this excellent drum playing which is the most remarkable lelement of the whole album. I am not saying that guitar sound is bad, no, everything is ok.but the work on drums is dominant… it’s so dominant that I can say honestly: it’s dominant and so powerful, raw, primitive and dirty. It’s naturally black metal ly played. It’s the head of the whole album.

Well, I have to mention another great track, it’s entitled ‘’Dangling Piggsy’’, a very very consolidated track structure, a melodic line to keep in mind, the anguish and the pain which traverses horizontally the base, it’s the lament of the last warrior, the revenant. All the pain is there. The rapport between the old school black metal style and the DSBM touches is in the right doze.

Fog is an artist to admire mostly for his unique style in which you will find yourself easily accessing his universe founded on his fanatic reflective approaches toward the grim Nordic spirit of the black kvlt. I can say this album is already a classic. So Infernal Requiem is another great project ranged in the middle of some other great bands that come from China, like Tomb, Nagzul, Original Sin, E.D.I.E.H. but with a difference: the balance between the old school black metal and the DSBM is admirable, at the end is a grim trve Norwegian leading style at its best.
