Please introduce yourself.

We’re called GMOCH, new band from Poland. We’ve just recorded a debut EP material “Dark Dead Tomorrow” and we’re putting it out to the world now.

When your band was created?

Band was created in 2011 as a jamming project and within one year transformed itseld into a band with full line up and enough material to start playin live shows

What the style do you play?

As most new bands have to say:it’s difficult 🙂 Every band member listens to different style so in the end it’s a result of all these influences. We use the term post/death/progressive metal with bits of sludge and black metal influences

How could you describe your music by several words?

Dark, muddy, intense.

What is the main theme of your lyrics?

Lyrics have to underline the mood of the music layer, so it’s mainly about the darker side of our existence. A lot of lyrics on the EP revolve around the topic of hatred, it’s consequences and it’s power(destructive or not). We’re not telling any story – we’re trying to create a particular image in listeners mind that will amplify the sound experience

What would you like to achieve with the band activity?

We’re preparing the material for the full length album and now we’re mainly focusing on playing live and band promotion. We’re new so we need to take time to build a fan base before releasing LP

How many gigs you have played so far and maybe you visit another countries with concerts?

So far we’ve been only playing in Poland. We’ve supported some major Polish bands as we’ll as hosting a bands from a local scene. Overall we’ve played above 20 gigs within last year.

Is there anything very important about your band what SHOULD know fans and labels?

We’re open to a gig offers and we’ll play a good, intense gig no matter the circumstances. We’re working hard and we hope that listeners will appreciate our efforts on a first LP

What the formats you would like to see your releases, CD, Vinyl, Tape…? And how do you see future of physical releases?

Our EP is relased for free in digital format and on a CD. For us physical release is still important. We’re music fans and we still buy it, so fans should also. Vinyl and tape is here to stay – maybe not as a mainstream channel but for the real music fans it’s still important. Hell I buy a lot of vinyl editions these days – sounds different and LP covers and wax presses are amazing!

When you will get label deal, would you like to help to the label with promotion from your side, or you want label do all without your help?

It would be nice to finally have someone to take care of all these agreements and preparations, but on the other hand what’s better than a healthy cooperation that would profit both sides?

What’s your reaction towards negative opinions about your music?

It builds us. Dealing with your own music for a long time makes less objective. Not all of the opinions makes sense but the ones that do are important to us.

And last question, how do you like our webzine, do you have some remarks towards its look or functionality?

Great informational value and reviews, your keeping up to date with all the current music and supporting the new underground bands – keep it on like that!

Gmoch is a post/death/progressive metal band with sludge influences, based in Wroclaw, Poland. Founded in 2011 by G (drums) and Z (lead guitar) as an stoner/sludge experiment. In 2012 D (bass) joined the band. After many jams and early material drafts they started to rehearse vocalists. After M. (2nd guitar/vocals) joined in 2013 band incorporated more rich sound with second guitar and growl vocals.During sludgy summer of 2013 GMOCH was searching for a lead vocalist, and before autumn band welcomed J.(vel S.) in it’s ranks. Having 2 vocalists, bands sound got a little bit of blackened tone, and mixed slow doomish bone-crushing elements with more dynamic stuff as well. Shortly after GMOCH starts playing live gigs, beginning with Unkilled Dogs Fest in Nov’13, then playing many times on the local scene(e.g 1st edition of Create Chaos), and supporting bands like Devilish Impressions, Diabolical, Souldrainer, Blank Faces, Hazael, Trauma. In June 2014 band released their first EP “Dark, dead tomorrow” that will be promoted live along 2014 and further.
