Hi there metal pals! We are Pheretrum directly from the most beautiful mental institution of Uruguayan lands.
When your band was created?
Pheretrum started in 2009 with the strong idea of becoming a part of this pseudo new wave of oldschool death metal. Preserving the idea of fighting for the underground metal all together in our small country. It’s been an isolated path for us on this road but as times passes we are even more convinced that it was the right choice.
What the style do you play?
We play extreme metal as aggressive as your mom telling you that you cannot go out with your friends tonight cause she’s tired of picking you up from the mud while being drunk,puking blood and scratching your tumors.
How could you describe your music by several words?
For the underground
What is the main theme of your lyrics?
Daily life struggle mixed with lovecraftian methafores and writer’s neuronal implosions.
What would you like to achieve with the band activity?
Prosperity for Prot, he was such a great guy, i wish i could travel with him through light to KPax.
How many gigs you have played so far and maybe you visit another countries with concerts?
Not too much gigs, i don’t count them. We went out of the country just one time, we went to Argentina, one of our neighbour countries. Whenever we can we are going to tour in as much countries as we can in america and probably a local tour throughout the country.
Is there anything very important about your band what SHOULD know fans and labels?
We don’t fool around, we are serious about Pheretrum.
What are the formats you would like to see your releases, CD, Vinyl, Tape…? And how do you see future of physical releases?
I love tapes honestly, but i would say vinyl is my prefered format. CD’s are OK. We are going to release one for our next full length but it will also be available on tape. I hope someone could release it on vinly! Last night i was watching a local TV program recorded on youtube and a band from here released a kind of credit card that was a USB with the album in it. I was amused… don’t know, like where’s the feeling on that ? Just a piece of micro chips. What’s next? A robot singing you the album while preparing your breakfast? Hahahaha
When you will get label deal, would you like to help to the label with promotion from your side, or you want label do all without your help?
That depends on both sides, but definately i wouldn’t like the label to do all the job. Is hard to imagine, i would prefer to get in touch before to talk about terms.
What’s your reaction towards negative opinions about your music?
Depends from where the critics come. But we do what we can within the genre we enjoy so if people pretend us to be better, believe me we try to do our best all the time.
And last question, how do you like our webzine, do you have some remarks towards its look or functionality?
I used to visiting it before the aesthetic change and i think now looks quiet fresh and simple, is easier to find stuff and more clean to read. I’d only change the favicon, looks totally out of topic hahaha.
