Norwegian black metal vets Taake recently announced a North American tour to make up for their 2017 tour which was cancelled due to visa issues. The tour was to include a Saint Vitus-presented NYC show on March 24 at Le Poisson Rouge, but now that show has been cancelled for a different reason. New York City Antifa urged the venue to rethink hosting the show due to accusations of Nazism that have been directed at Taake in the past:

LPR tweeted, “Please note that the Taake show scheduled for March 24th has been cancelled. We are providing full refunds to all ticket holders. Please email [email protected] with any questions you may have.” We reached out to LPR too, and the venue’s marketing director gave us a statement that reads: “It is our mission to create a safe space for everyone in our community and this show does not meet that standard.”
