Scissione stems from a deep unease that has been gripping me for some time, and that I still feel today.
I live a life I never wanted, and in contrast, I long for a life very different from the one I’m living.
Free will? I don’t believe in it. With this piece, I want to communicate first and foremost to myself that what I’m experiencing is brutally real and uncomfortable, and secondarily, I want to reach out to those who feel the same way.
I’m not looking for half-truths to tell myself a simple lie, thus suffocating my complete dissatisfaction. Instead, I seek a clear awareness to spread the raw message that Scissione carries.
And what is that message? It’s an identity conflict that festers inside. A dark zone that resurfaces in the most incorrect and violent way. In short, Scissione is the everyday anxiety, the worst headache that won’t let go, the thing that torments peace and quiet. I live a life I never asked for, but one that was granted to me. I live how I’m supposed to live, but not how I want to.
This track offers a blind perspective, yet it’s also very clear. It points to those dark areas that everyone has, the ones we often avoid out of fear of discovering the worst part of ourselves. I feed off that part, I live it every day, tasting its bitterness.
Scissione is, and will remain, a conflict I will continue to live with.
What matters is that now it has a name, an identity.
Divided, I will continue to ask myself whether the life I’m living is truly mine, or just a gift I never asked for.
