Amenspear is a New York-based progressive black metal solo project founded in 2024, as the continuation and culmination of two previous projects, Vathis and Aphedron. The project takes influences from bands like Enslaved, Opeth, Absu, Immortal, and Moonsorrow; with spiritual, social critical, and deeply personal lyrics. The debut album, “Vaera”, was released in September 2024 and contains 6 tracks over 1 hour, with epics like “Icarus and Iscariot” and “Patriarch”, and shorter brutal tracks like “Queen of Eyes”. A single 26-minute song EP, A Casket of Relics, is scheduled for release on March 7, 2025.
