Mourning Mist “Mourning Mist

Forever Plagued Records

Do you know Kvasir from Profezia and Abhor? If you are – then you must listen to his band called Mourning Mist. This Italian quartet here with six tracks of pretty interesting yet a bit original music. Basically here is some kind of mixture between avant-garde metal and classical doom metal, combined in one organism, which will not leave anybody without impressions (of course I’m speaking here about people which minds are opened for some experiments in metal music). From my point of view, “Mourning Mist” should be among those albums which you’ll be able to listen pretty often. Here aren’t any too obscure rhythms, here is just various tempos music, where guitar’ parts played mid paced, with not too different chords, but deeply freezing and interesting. I could also admit – those guitars could be a bit on foreground, why – ‘coz in that case Mourning Mist’ music may sounds more pressing yet deeply. But this is not a big trouble I’m sure, just ‘coz the whole album sounds memorable and will force your mind to get some depressive yet cosmic moods. From musician’s statement “The band members’ determination is to create music that characterizes the Umbrian lands from a “dark” and unconventional viewpoint” – I’m not sure if I know what here is written about, so I can’t judge if they could do all they want, I’m sorry. Last track, called “Lament” sounds really good, the reason is this track is last track, and this is an instrumental, played with violins and acoustic guitars, when you’ll listen to the whole album you’ll get this track like real finish of this record (plus there is great layer, noise just like you listen it on Vinyl. Regarding violin – yeah – it’s an important instrument over here on the whole album. Thus, if you like some original, catching yet mysterious Metal Music with avant-garde tunes – you MUST wait until February 9, 2015 and buy this album.

Original, deeply catching, bring cosmic impressions and just awesome, and well composed album! Antichrist magazine recommends Mourning Mist, let’s your brain covered by mourning mist!
