Round 2: Fight!
Self-Release
Release: 7 October 2016

Hm… I was impressed while reading press-release, mostly when I have seen many words like Thrash metal etc… But I got completely another point after the very first listening…

Well, here are ten songs of some kind of technical yet extreme metal. To be honest – this is not typical thrash metal I like personally, but I have found some things which drove my thoughts towards Revocation band, but from my point of view – Revocation sounds much more extreme, agressive and catching.

I do not want to say Illyrian is some kind of shit, their music is really well played, also those freezing technical pieces in every single song makes listening to “Round 2: Fight” interesting, like you have an interest to continue listening. Anyway there are some really catching and thrash metal tunes, but not enough to call this thrash metal.

Technical, often catching, modern metal, no more no less. This is not an album which I’ll listen again and again, but this is just my little opinion, and I’m sure fans of technical music will like this album.

Cheers from France / Rob

About the author

All that stuff about heavy metal and hard rock, I don't subscribe to any of that. It's all just music. I mean, the heavy metal from the Seventies sounds nothing like the stuff from the Eighties, and that sounds nothing like the stuff from the Nineties. Who's to say what is and isn't a certain type of music?
