Hi Sova, how are you?
Thank you! I’m doing very well! Lot of things happen in Nex now and we are all a bit busy but it doesn’t affect our moods!

When did Nex was formed?
The idea of creating a band came up in December 2013. Along with Mikołaj (Drums) we started making a material. In May 2014 we had gathered up the squad and officially stared the band.

This year you have released the EP entitled ”Totalitarian Leader”, tell me about it.
“Totalitarian Leader” is our first child which we are using as a promotion of Nex possibilities. The material was recorded at the turn of December 2014 and March 2015. Drum tracks were recorded in Warsaw’s Pinesound Studio. The guitar, bass and vocal tracks along with all the mixing, mastering and production stuff were made in Szczecin’s Ritual Noise Studio. Our debut is a part of concept which we will continue on our upcoming releases.

Are you going to release an album soon?
Yes of course! In January 2016 a single promoting our upcoming Release will show up and Long Play itself should come up in November.

What are the band’s influences?
Influence… This word has a lot of meanings. About music influences there is actually no space to describe them all. Privately everyone of us grew up on a widely described alternative music and it’s easier to say which genres we listened to than name the bands. We wouldn’t hide that musically we are very impressed by the compositional art of bands such as Gojira. We love the space in music and we are trying to make our music to be like this, full of space! We won’t hide that music is our lives and we simply love it.

Lyrics of ours has to strike in lack of logic and analytic thinking which is currently happening in our society. The EP cover might suggest Nex is a very anticlerical band. It’s partly true but the whole idea is protest against every kind of totalitarian system. Vatican and head of the catholic church is a ideal example of dictatorship and making people to leave their individuality far behind them. We really don’t like such a form of exercising power and we are against it not only in music form. We would like to underline here that symbolic of diverted cross, which we have adopted, has nothing to do with cult of Satan or any other religion things It’s our symbol of protest against everything that is trying to impose it’s way of thinking. We will always be agitating social themes. It’s s our concept, it’s the way we are privately, it’s what we are thinking and talking about and that’s why it will always come up as our music.

Are there shows confirmed for this year?
Yes, this year we will play several gigs and mini tours. On 11th of September we will perform as a support for Swedes from Tad Morse in Szczecin’s club “Kosmos”. In October we are planning to play a 2 day tour with our friends from Burn Them All. 2016 will be better for us. We are going to play a few gigs with friendly black metal band Nazgor from Sweden. In June we are going on our first tour around Russia as a headliner, it’s a real big deal for us! The tour will take place from 4th to 25th of June and we will go through 19 biggest cities. We’ll travel about 18500 km!

A message for the fans?
A message for fans? That’s probably the most awesome part of this interview! We are making music for you! We wanted to really thank you for your support and energy which you are giving to us by how you receive our music! There is nothing better than the positive reactions to such important part of us which is Nex!

Thank you Sova, cheers!
Thank you as well Carla and wish you all the best in the name of the whole band!
