An interview with Tomasz Radzikowaski, the frontman and guitar player of the Polish Death metal band, Spirits Way.
Hello Tomasz, how are you?
I’m actually great!!I Would say that I’ve never felt better in my life. I fulfill dreams of playing the music that I love!
Tell me when did Spirits Way was founded?
Well.. In 2010. I met “Martinez” (Spirits Way Guitarist 2010-2012)in the guitar shop in Warsaw and we started Talking about forming a brutal metal band .We started composing a material and play gigs in Warsaw,
In 2012 you have released the debut album entitled ”Brainless Puppets Are Enslaved”. Tell me about it.
This is a very brutal album.This album opened the door for us to a higher level. We’ve recorded it at “KLON Studio” with the help of our good friend Andrzej Kamiński who was responsible for recording, mixing and mastering the album.
Who mainly writes the lyrics and what are the lyrical themes?
Songwriter is Jakub Tokaj, Amira Gaffar and me. Our lyrics mainly focus on the dark, filthy side of humanity
Are you going to release a new album soon?
Sure ! We are very excited about the fact that the album will be available both in Poland and abroad.I am in the process of negotiations on distribution agreements in Europe. The release date is unknown.
What are the influences?
We play death metal. We are inspirited by Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse, Carcass and many, many more… We love their music and way of playing. We listen to a lot of music. Blues, hard rock, heavy, thrash, death and black metal. It is our religion. But I think our greatest idols like Sepultura,Death or Morbid Angel have the greatest impact on us.
Any shows confirmed for this year?
Of course ! Tour in Poland,Czech Republic,Germany and few single gigs with very cool bands!
Do you have a message for the fans?
What can I say? Wait for new album, and be ready for art of blasphemies because Spirits Way doesn’t show mercy! Stay Brutal !
