Norwegian black metal act, Kvalvaag, presents promo track taken from the upcoming album Seide, which will be out on July 30th via Dusktone.

Kvalvaag stated: When I started working on the new material, I wanted to surpass our previous work in every way possible. Much more time, effort and better equipment were used compared to our earlier works this time.  We also received financial support from “Norsk fond for utøvende kunstnere” who gave us the ability to give the album the production it deserved. It was awesome working with Tom Kvalsonic as he is the man behind the sound of many of the albums we grew up with. He completely understood our vision and significantly raised the quality of the album. I feel we have successfully raised the bar as high as possible this time. We had to evolve a lot as musicians to be able to perform our parts during the recording. It has been a educational journey with a lot of hard work and technical challenges in the studio, but I am really satisfied with the end result and our musical progression.

Comments more on ”Bergatt”As the band’s founder Kvalvaag explains,  the choice of “Bergtatt” was deliberate in that  “the track has a natural progression from our previous release, with a stronger focus on groove and atmosphere, rather than tempo.  It serves as  a nice indication of how KVALVAAG sounds in 2018 – trolls, forests and atmosphere all the way.  Sit back and let it drag you through the darkest pits of old Norwegian folklore and history.

Seid is the 3rd studio album by Kvalvaag. It`s more aggressive but at the same time more diverse and unpredictable than our previous albums .

The album was written and partially recorded between the summer of 2016 and spring of 2017 at the Kvalvaag Studios by Kvalvaag himself on guitars, synth, bass and vocals. Drums were recorded at Studio Hemstad, and vocals at the Kvalsonic Lab. Seid was mixed and mastered by Tom Kvålsvoll at the Kvalsonic Lab in Oslo.
