The Netherlands-based, groove-driven heavy rock band HELL VALLEY HIGH is set to release its highly anticipated debut album, Welcome to Hell Valley, on October 18th, 2024, via Argonauta Records, on vinyl and digital
“We are very excited to release our debut full-length Welcome To Hell Valley through Argonauta Records on October 18th. We’ve been working really hard on this album for the past year and we’re extremely proud of the final result. The album was recorded over two sessions at Big Dog Recordings, just outside of Antwerp, Belgium. All music was recorded live to capture Hell Valley High’s true energy. The title is a nod to the legendary 1994 Kyuss album. At the same time – like the band’s name – the title is an ode to our favorite movie Back To The Future.
Welcome To Hell Valley includes the groovy song Blameless and fiery rocker Future Nomads, that were both released earlier this year. It also features our latest single Clean Slate and the multifaceted Easy Rider, with its epic crescendo. The album even contains a cover of a song that was originally released in 1970 by a world famous Dutch band. “Clean Slate feels like the perfect example of a Hell Valley High song. That is why we picked it both as the album opener as well as the first single of the new album. Musically it has all the elements of a Hell Valley High song; a groovy guitar riff, a strong vocal line, melodic guitar parts, solos and a Black Sabbath-like middle part. The track came about as a real group effort: we wrote it together during band practice, with each member contributing ideas to complement each other’s parts and the overall song structure. We’ve played Clean Slate live a few times and noticed the crowd really likes it! We hope you do too!” – says the band.

Great things are about to happen for Hell Valley High. Following the release of a self-titled debut EP in May 2024, the Utrecht-based heavy rock/stoner band will release its first full length on October 18th via Italian label Argonauta Records (Splendidula, Drive By Wire, Ancient VVisdom). Also scheduled for October are shows at the prestigious Desertfest in Antwerp (BE) and as support for Fu Manchu in Maastricht (NL).
The five-piece combines thick, heavy riffing, throbbing bass parts and pounding drums with powerful vocals, catchy choruses and punk rock energy. Hell Valley High’s music is inspired by the likes of Fu Manchu, Truckfighters, Red Fang, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Karma to Burn, Kyuss, Monster Magnet and Black Sabbath.
The band performed with Ramkot (B), Fire Horse (NL), Money & The Man (NL) and Giobia (I), amongst others. The response to the singles and EP from the likes of Kink Distortion (Bjorns Beton Uur), NPO Radio 2 (De Keiharde Pödcast), Aardschok, Slagwerkkrant, Never Mind The Hype and Rockportaal has been very positive.Hell Valley High is comprised of seasoned musicians who have played a lot of shows in The Netherlands and toured Europe extensively. The group features ex-members of Wildebeast, Filthy Felons, Note to Amy, Apehanger and Junkyard Safari and is currently rocking the stages.
