REDWEST “Crimson Renegade”
Bakerteam Records
Next month Redwest “Crimson Renegade” will see the light, to be released by Bakerteam records. Well, what had brought my interest towards this band? I like German Dezperadoz, you know, rough songs, inspired by wild west etc… So, once I saw Redwest playing something like western metal – I decided that I must listen to them…
After Germany, now we have Italians, inspired by western story and movies, hehe. Redwest is a young band from Milan, previously released two EPs, and now it’s the time for the first full-length album. Well, to be honest – I have two different impressions – the first – I like their idea to sign about wild west. I like Redwest’s stuff, but I can’t say I’ll listen to it on daily basis… Just because of one reason – for me personally (again – this is review, the personal opinion of a single person) – Redwest’s music is toooo, so to say – “sweet”, without that deeply catching rough and saturated by alcoholic adventures etc moods. From the other hand – their music is professionally made, and will find enough amount of listeners and even fans. For me personally – I’d like to listen Redwest’ music alive, while some partying, in that case it would be more actual and could bring enough dose of fun and avoid too many sleeping faces, hehe! As a whole – musically here is some kind of heavy metal (and sometimes with some electronic parts, like in the song “The Dreamcatcher”), with male and female vocals, but inspired by above mentioned themes, played clear but too sweet as for me.
Anyway – it was cool to listen to them, and if you like wild west inspired metal music (but sounding a bit modern and sweet) – welcome to Redwest camp.
