Residual Self brings forth what they consider to be their magnum opus, Magdalene’s Whore House (from the forthcoming album RESEED). This song has two versions. One of which features Molly Rennick of the band Living Dead Girl doing co-vocals with Rex. The song is an ode to women in the ‘adult industry’. Some of these women have given their voice to this song (Lyra Skye, Omanko Vivi, Seafoam Siren, and Bati Babi).
Magdalene’s Whore House tells the tale of four different women from different backgrounds and all walks of life, who found a purpose and a place they call home. The ethereal music and otherworld sounds give off a romantic, yet somber feeling. With Rex’s obscure vocal melodies, backmasking vocals, and what can only be described as dream to nightmare guitar playing by Josh has this song being the longest released by the band yet.
