Atanor “Atanor”
Iron Bonehead productions

So here we have MLP of Russian band ATANOR. Unfortunately guys weren’t so kind to publish somewhere information such date of founding, place of origin (Russia is very huge country, so…) or even who plays which instrument. Personally I never understood and will never understand such approach to the matter which calls promotion! I know that IRON BONEHEAD PRODUCTIONS is quite well-known label, but…

In this case there’s anything else to do than write about music which we can hear on “Atanor”. As I see this is debut of the band in which play three guys – who of course are hidden under pseudonyms. Guys or maybe label call this release by EP and it contains 4 songs of Black Metal. Well, this is quite interesting and inspired by other styles Black Metal. I have to say. Tempos are rather middle ones, but there’re speed-ups. Riffs say to me that this one who play guitar is fascinated by Heavy Metal. It’s not hearable all the time, but enough often to notice it. Drums aren’t rather typical for Black. There’re of course fragments where it plays in typical way, but quite often it sounds more Heavy, even Death (we have a lot of cymbals here)… What about vocal it’s more like scream of madman.

In general I can hear potential in this band and interesting ideas which are in heads of musicians. After few first notes I didn’t thought like that. But again we have proof that we should listen carefully to what we hear.
