“A song about melancholic and apathetic contemplation. The lyrical hero lies on the ground, occasionally sipping strong alcohol, and looks at the night sky; the deeper the night gets, the more amazing things dawn on him.” – says the band
Krypta, a band from Kyiv, Ukraine, was formed in 2014 around the musical ideas of Dmytro Omelechko, the lead guitarist. The main idea was to focus on melody and the musicness rather than adherence to a particular genre. Each new band member introduced elements of different genres into the composition, from jazz to funeral doom and brutal death.
2018’s two-track demo Omerta/Imya introduced the band to the world. Initial reviews of the demo and local live performances praised the quality of the material and its genre eclecticism.
Despite all the difficulties, a gradual release of a fully finished set of 8 songs is planned for 2024. This also includes two tracks from the demo, completely re-recorded. Work on new songs does not stop, either.
Krypta’s music combines the concepts of classic doom and symphonic metal of the 90s with modern trends. Heavy rhythms organically coexist with soulful vocal parts, growls, and violin.
