Joining the ranks at Sliptrick Records this week:
Wonderworld (NO/IT) Classic Rock | Hard Rock
In March 2013 (during the recording of a Ken Hensley & Live Fire album in Alicante), Norweigens Ken Ingwersen (guitar) and Tom Fossheim (drums) met Roberto Tiranti (vocals and bass) for the first time. Within a few hours, the guys hit it off both musically and personally. The possibilities for the power of their new band band was massive and the process moving forward was very easy and fun. Within a year, they had recorded their first album, simply called Wonderworld, which was released in October 2014. This was followed by 2016’s Wonderworld II which was put together throughout 2015, in-between gigs, despite the fact that the singer/bass player was based in Genova, Italy and the drummer and guitar player were in Norway. 2017 saw the band in the studio again, this time to record their 3rd album, the upcoming Wonderworld III. The album is due for release via Sliptrick Records in 2018 and contains some of the groups best material yet.
Wonderworld is influenced by many of the bands from the 70’s era, which include a lot of jamming, energy and fun. As musicians they have all been a part of the recording processes where you record one person at a time, doubling all parts, huge background vocals, keys, sound replacing drums, auto-tuning the vocals etc, etc. So for Wonderworld, it was important to stay away from that path and get back to the roots on how classic rock bands recorded music. But even though there is a bit of Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, AC/DC and Rush in the mix, the band have their own sound musically and have created a solid combination of old and new influences sprinkled with their own spices to forge a melting pot of rock music.
