Please introduce yourself.
My name is Zach Ostrowski and I play bass and perform vocals for Uhtcearu.
When your band was created?
Uhtcearu was created in the fall of 2015 when myself, Noel (drums), and Dustin (guitar) began writing and exchanging music together following the final tour of mine and Noel’s former band, Arbor.
What the style do you play?
We play blackened melodic death metal.
How could you describe your music by several words?
Troubled by today but hopeful for tomorrow.
What is the main theme of your lyrics?
Our main lyrical themes revolve mostly around philosophy, introverted thought, death, fantasy, and despair.
What would you like to achieve with the band activity?
I think we would all love to travel and see the world alongside meeting incredible people and musicians while playing our music to fans that appreciate it.
How many gigs you have played so far and maybe you visit another countries with concerts?
We have only played a handful of gigs so far after releasing our record but do plan to do some significant touring in the near future. While in Arbor, Dustin actually stepped in and played guitar for us on one of our U.S. East Coast/Canadian tours.
So we already know that being on the road together for an extended period of time while playing shows would be a familiar and smooth process.
Is there anything very important about your band what SHOULD know fans and labels?
We would like to thank everyone who takes the time to listen to and comment on our music. It means the world to us.
What the formats you would like to see your releases, CD, Vinyl, Tape…? And how do you see future of physical releases?
‘The Plight of Wanderers’ was initially only released on CD but we would like to release it on vinyl as well. I see us going the same route for our future releases too.
When you will get label deal, would you like to help to the label with promotion from your side, or you want label do all without your help?
We would absolutely like to help with the promotion. Being involved in that process would provide many opportunities to learn more in depth about the business side of things.
What’s your reaction towards negative opinions about your music?
Music isn’t a competition so we respect everyone’s opinion. Good constructive criticism can be very helpful for developing as songwriters.
And last question, how do you like our webzine, do you have some remarks towards its look or functionality?
I really have no complaints whatsoever. The site has a great feel and looks fantastic. It has always run smoothly with no errors that I have ever encountered.
