PEARLY GATES “Unchained”

Let’s move to Finland. Let’s change quite totally genre of music than! These five guys come from Helsinki and Tampere and play music which even with extremely a lot of good will can’t be named Metal at all!

“Unchained” is their sixth EP. So even if I found anywhere information when the band was formed than when we take a look on discography than we can take conclusion that they’re experienced musicians. And that’s what I can hear here. That’s truth that music which Finnish play absolutely isn’t my cup of beer, but anyway. EP contains four songs of calm Rock, maybe even sometimes I can be suspicious that there’s some pop. Everything’s well played, riffs are melodic and as I said calm. Of course guitars play from time to time some a little more “aggressive” riffs, but rarely – in my opinion too rarely. Actually I can only name here what happens on the beginning of “Sink Hole” and that’s it. Otherwise I have to fight during listening of this stuff to don’t fall asleep.

Well, it of course doesn’t mean that it’s bad or something. I can hear qualities and abilities of musicians and vocalist. But it’s definitely not for me. Maybe some off you will like it, but…
