vehem The return of Phoenix-based VEHEMENCE has the death metal scene writhing with anticipation of the band’s impending Forward Without Motion full-length, and now the first single from the album comes blazing forth. Released in the form of a video for the opening track, “I Don’t Want To Look Inside,” through an exclusive premiere at Metal Injection, the new track is divulged to fans in conjunction with preorders for the album through Battleground Records.

Their first album in nearly twelve years, when listening to the new VEHEMENCE record, one will discover the refreshing sounds of a band creatively reborn and seasoned by experience. Forward Without Motion delivers nine monstrous tracks, with nearly an engulfing hour of new material, the record flowing with a relentless, throat-grabbing energy that begs for repeated spins. This cohesive power is nowhere more apparent than in the strength of the instrumental and vocal performances, which slash and hammer their way out of the speakers with a passion rarely found in the cold, mostly lifeless corpses that are most modern death metal recordings.

At the forefront of Forward Without Motion, the nearly seven-minute “I Don’t Want To Look Inside” captures the band’s deadly, slick precision, captured through a multi-angle practice spot video created by Metal Injection’s Pit Full Of Shit videographer Frank Huang. The video now sees release via Metal Injection, the post with the premiere offering, “VEHEMENCE hasn’t been around since its 2004 record Helping The World To See, but eleven years later the band is back and clearly has still got it!” The write-up adds that the track “I Don’t Want To Look Inside,” is, “an extremely well-played jam that sounds like it was recorded by actual musicians… instead of just being punched in and deemed super technical.”.”

Bearing cover art by Hal Rotter/Rotting Graphics (Atriarch, Inherit Disease, Barghest), Forward Without Motion will see release via Battleground Records on October 23rd; preorders for the album have been made available for the digital HERE, the digipak CD HERE, and the 2xLP, pressed in a run of 300 copies on 180 gram black vinyl and housed in gatefold packaging with digital download, available HERE. All LP orders will be entered to win the usual test pressing, and the digital version bears two bonus tracks, which are re-recordings of the songs “I Take Your Life” and “Reconditioning The Flock”, from the band’s self-released 1999 debut album, The Thoughts from Which I Hide.

Surrounding their local record release show for Forward Without Motion on Saturday, October 24th, additional regional and widespread VEHEMENCE tour actions from will continue to be announced through the coming months.

Their first new album since Metal Blade Records’ 2004-released Helping The World To See, VEHEMENCE comes storming back to the death metal circuit with a crushing new album which will surely see the band regaining their traction within the scene after their time off the grid. Forward Without Motion is the culmination of years of hard work and the collective desire to write the best songs and capture the best performances. Working on the songs off and on for several years between 2007 and 2011, VEHEMENCE began a methodical, painstaking tracking process for the new record between 2012 and 2014, the album’s guitars, bass, and vocals being recorded at the home studios of guitarists Bjorn Dannov and Kyle Moeller, with the drums being recorded at Villain Studios in Phoenix.
