It’s been a long road since 1983 and today we celebrate our first two album releases as reissues of both Kill ‘Em All and Ride The Lightning hit the streets 2016 style, all polished and remastered for the most advanced sound quality possible.
In addition to the CD and vinyl releases of these albums, we’ve told you about the deluxe box sets that include original source material from our personal collections, many never before heard or seen recordings, and books including rare photos and essays from those who were there. Unfortunately some of you in certain parts of the world may have trouble finding the deluxe box sets on release day due to production issues we have encountered. Our friends at Universal Music are doing everything in their power to get these box sets out to the fine folks at retail, but you may see delays depending on where you live. Keep checking back with your friendly local music store; we expect everyone to have the deluxe box sets available very shortly.
In the meantime, celebrate Record Store Day with us on Saturday, April 16th as Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité, Metallica! – Live at Le Bataclan, Paris, France – June 11th, 2003 will be available exclusively at independent record stores around the world. Limited to 20,000 pieces worldwide, each copy includes a numbered certificate with profits from sales of the CD going directly to the victims of the Parisian attacks in 2015 through Fondation de France’s Give For France. The Met Store has already sold out – thanks for your support!
Last, but certainly not least, join us on Records Store day as we webcast our set from Rasputin Music at 4:00 PM PDT in conjunction with our friends at Facebook Live. Visit our Facebook page and be a part of the show in Berkeley via the magic of the web! Fan Club Members: We’ve opened up some space inside Rasputin’s and are emailing a few more winners! Check your email to see if you’ve won.
