Please introduce yourself.
Hello everyone, I’m Franz from the band LOCUS NEMINIS, we are from Linz, Austria.
When your band was created?
2008
What the style do you play?
Symphonic Black Metal
How could you describe your music by several words?
cold, dark, inorganic, spacious
What is the main theme of your lyrics?
science fiction and philosophical themes
What would you like to achieve with the band activity?
Simply make good music.
How many gigs you have played so far and maybe you visit other countries with concerts?
20 or so, played abroad three times in Czech Republic.
Is there anything very important about your band what SHOULD know fans and labels?
Well, not really, actually. The music is all that matters.
What the formats you would like to see your releases, CD, Vinyl, Tape…? And how do you see future of physical releases?
We will definitely release our next Album on CD, apart from digital (Vinyl is too expensive to make for small numbers), but I would expect CDs to become obsolete eventually.
I really ain’t one of those Vinyl cork sniffers, but out of the physical formats, my money is on Vinyl to survive the next few decades. Some people have this ritual, that they enjoy their music while looking at something spinning around, there is a certain something about that, and while I do not think that sound-wise, there is any difference that is actually relevant (I believe it’s your stereo + room that matters the most), it is supposed to last longer than the others, and, most importantly, it has the advantage that the artwork is the biggest.
I really don’t get it, why anyone would prefer tape, it sounds completely inferior, which may be a matter of taste, but apart from that, it only has disadvantages, less durability, smallest artwork…
When you will get label deal, would you like to help to the label with promotion from your side, or you want label do all without your help?
Actually, I don’t really expect labels to do anything other than distro these days. Maybe, if it’s a bigger one, I’d ask them to help me book a tour and stuff, but the small ones… I think the main purpose these days is to have someone else handle the pressing, accounting, dealing with the post office, etc. in a more economical way.
We’re not sure whether we should even look for a label for our next release. Self-releasing is also fine I think.
What’s your reaction towards negative opinions about your music?
They are worth more than neutral opinions. I’d rather get 2/10 in a review than 6/10. In fact, I sometimes think we don’t have enough haters.
And last question, how do you like our webzine, do you have some remarks towards its look or functionality?
I like that it’s mostly white. I really don’t have any suggestions for improvement, for what it’s worth, I read some of the interviews and thought the questions were really creative and non-generic.

Locus Neminis (latin for “no man’s land”) is an Extreme/SymphonicBlack Metal band, formed 2008 in Traun, Austria. After the lineup was completed in the following years, the bands style shifted from classically oriented Symphonic Black Metal to a more contemporary approach, incorporating electronic elements and industrial sounds as well to aid in the quest of creating the sterile, bizarre, and inorganic dark atmosphere that Locus Neminis stands for. After the release of a demo containing some of the older material, Locus Neminis started working on a debut album entitled “Weltenwanderung”, which was ultimately finished in 2012, containing 9 songs, self-produced and selfreleased. A new Album is slated for 2015.
Locus Neminis are:
Xarius – vocals, bass
J.P guitar
Antimaterie synths
F.E guitar
Ramiz drums
