Paris, France-based Cinematic prog-metal/doom/stoner trio OAKS is thrilled to announce the release of their new single, “So Heavy,” hitting the airwaves today. The band expresses their excitement, stating, “We are very proud to announce the release of ‘So Heavy’ on all platforms, thanks to our great label Argonauta Records.”
“So Heavy” is a heartfelt tribute to the iconic Beatles’ song, “I Want You (She’s So Heavy),” reimagined within the unique cinematic and loud vision of OAKS. The band skillfully infuses their signature style, creating an overwhelming heavy and psych wall of sound. OAKS is joined on this musical journey by their dear friend Davy Allain from Eldégée, adding depth and intensity to the experience.
Accompanying the release is a video, shot in the depths of their studio by Clément Sautet. The video, described as “classy, dark, and elegant,” perfectly complements the band’s massive and powerful rendition of this classic song, enhancing the overall impact of the music.

“So Heavy” was composed by OAKS and recorded in September 2023 by Andrew Guillotin and Oaks at Hybreed Studios. The single was expertly mixed and mastered by Andrew Guillotin at Hybreed Studios. The captivating artwork for the release was created by Julien “Taup’less” Vincent, adding a visual dimension to the band’s creative expression.
