BlackDeath has been around forever (well… 1998) and has never drifted away from the calls to Metal they make and hymn creations they invoke. Soundwise, they discovered that long ago and it’s easy to discern them from other bands of the genre. This is a true mid paced environment benefited with the not-so clean aura that so many bands remove as they do not truly understand that quality which these underground veterans comprehend. While there are fast parts, the trio’s performance is undeniably right on spot and it’s reflective of their long running part in the past and present. Of all the tracks, the one that was standing out for my taste was “Der Engelhass”. That one for me truly bears the shape of what BlackDeath is capable of. If you’ve never heard this band, then know this is solid Black Metal forged by committed musicians for the last 22 years. There are times they remind me of being the Russian counterpart to Coroner as they are a trio and some parts do have a feel of the Swiss influence from “No More Color” times in my ears.
