Brave the Cold produce some high energy metallic chaos on Scarcity. Mixing modern aggression with a classic thrash metal groove, Brave the Cold craft something uniquely it’s own.
Scarcity is nothing if not well produced. It sounds fantastic. All instruments are represented well in the mix, with plenty of room to spread out without muddling into each other.
While a full on thrash attack is the star of the Brave the Cold show, there are moments of levity and ambiance that pop out throughout the album, creating a very well rounded listening experience.
The songs are catchy, and within the first listen, the listener gets a feel for where each of the tracks is going. While predictable, I think it lends to the song’s accessibility.
While not entirely my cup of tea, I can see where Brave the Cold has its place in the metal echelon. This is a group of talented individuals with a lot of potential, and an ear should be kept out for them for sure.
