“Facestealer is the first of 5 songs to be released on this EP, so we have a lot left for you all, and we can’t wait to show off what’s next! Facestealer is in many ways a flagship of the sounds Medusian explores as a band. It pairs the massive orchestration and melody driven aspects of the music with the intensity carried by the riffing and drumming. Exploring both clean and harsh vocals, more guitar and drum driven parts next to bombastic symphonic sections, Facestealer covers a wide spectrum of musicality, indicative of the goal of Medusian to expand its sound and paint a picture with diverse musical ideas.
As all Medusian songs do, the lyrics of the song tell an original story. The story of the survivor of a creature that steals the faces of its victims. Telling the story of the after effect of the attack of the creature, the character’s seeking of revenge, and ultimate fate to live the rest of their life without a face, an identity, pairs with the dark tonality and aggression of the song’s composition.”
