Please introduce yourself.
We are Calligram, a multinational band featuring members from Italy, France, Brazil and the Basque Country.
When was your band created?
What style do you play?
We mix a lot of different genres into our music. We all come from different backgrounds so we bring all influences into our sound.
How could you describe your music in several words?
Loud, fast, pi**ed off, melodic, epic. I guess that’s about it.
What is the main theme of your lyrics?
There isn’t a main theme, We write according to what the music asks of it but usually dark themes, f***ed up life situations.
What would you like to achieve with the band activity?
We want to play to as many people in as many places as possible.
How many gigs you have played so far and maybe you visit another countries with concerts?
We’ve played several gigs in London where we’re based and are just starting to promote our debut EP across the UK. We organise our own gigs exchanging with bands from different places. We’re currently in the process of booking an UK tour and looking for contacts in Europe to organise gigs.
Is there anything very important about your band what SHOULD know fans and labels?
We don’t take stuff for granted. We know how hard it is being a musician but we still stick together to make music. That’s what really matters.
What the formats you would like to see your releases, CD, Vinyl, Tape…? And how do you see future of physical releases?
So far we have only released our EP Digitally in Bandcamp, Spotify, Itunes, etc.. due to our short budget and we needed to get the music out there asap but we love the other formats too, tape is awesome, that’s how we started putting music out with our old bands years ago. We’re gonna do it at some point.
When you will get label deal, would you like to help to the label with promotion from your side, or you want label do all without your help?
We will definitely help. We’re not lazy.
What’s your reaction towards negative opinions about your music?
People have different opinions; sometimes they’re valid, sometimes they’re empty and weak. So we try to filter negative opinions into something positive that we can use to improve as a band.
And last question, how do you like our webzine, do you have some remarks towards its look or functionality?
What you guys do is so honourable and we have A LOT of respect for people helping out and working with independent bands. Keep it up Guys, Stay Metal!!
