I’m Roberto Figliolia, drummer.
When your band was created?
Filii Eliae was born in 2010.
What the style do you play?
Heavy Metal.
How could you describe your music by several words?
A dark vision of Metal, direct riffs and mixing old and modern mentality.
What is the main theme of your lyrics?
We write our lyrics in Latin to describe the world of the dead.
What would you like to achieve with the band activity?
Play what we like and diffuse our music style.
How many gigs you have played so far and maybe you visit another countries with concerts?
In the last 30 years I play with my brother Maurizio often all around Italy.
Is there anything very important about your band what SHOULD know fans and labels?
We are totally independent, nothing and no one influence our planning and our music.
What the formats you would like to see your releases, CD, Vinyl, Tape…? And how do you see future of physical releases?
We are recording our second album on CD and what I can say is that “physical releases” will never end even if there is less people buying CD’s, Vinyl etc. A real fan will always by the official realize of his favorite artist.
When you will get label deal, would you like to help to the label with promotion from your side, or you want label do all without your help?
At moment we have our own label and we distribute our albums by ourselves. We are open anyway in future for an eventual collaboration but only with serious label, distributor or promoter. You know very well how many bullshits are running around.
What’s your reaction towards negative opinions about your music?
We don’t expect to pleasure everybody with our music, every opinion is welcome, in a right way of couse.
And last question, how do you like our webzine, do you have some remarks towards its look or functionality?
I find Antichrist Zine very clear and easy to serf than others for me too full of nothing interesting and complicate layout. Thank you for the space we get end see you soon for the new album of Filii Eliae. Roberto Figliolia

The band was founded in 1985 under the name MAYHEM, they released a demo “Hate and Pain” before changing their name to ENSLAVED in 1989 when they recorded a four track disc.Then, after years of silence, a new darker vision of the dead arose into the spirit of FILII ELIAE in A.D. MMX. In August 2014 they realize the first full length album “Qvi nobis maledictvm velit” with all the lyrics written in Latin.New album out next April 2015.
The band members are now known as: “MARTIRIVM” – Guitars, Bass, Synth, Vocals “OSSIBVS IGNOTIS” – Drums
