After 14 long years the Swedish UFO has landed once again in Zagreb, Croatia. With the European tour “I AM” the Swedish industrial masters Pain are here once again, along with special guests, the finnish folk metal legends Ensiferum. Support bands will be Swedish Eleine and melodic death metal band Ryujin from Japan. Because of the big interest, the gig was relocated to a larger venue: Boogaloo.
PAIN was formed back in 1996 in Swedish town of Ludvika by the multitalented Peter Tagtgren of Hypocrisy fame, which is its only constant member. By style it is safe to say that Pain combines heavy metal, electronic music and techno from the eighties. They have released eight albums so far, which have hits like “End Of The Line’, ‘Shut Your Mouth’, ‘Same Old Song’, ‘Follow Me’ and ‘Coming Home’. On this tour, Pain will visit 17 countries and 33 cities. Live members on this tour consists of Peter’s son Sebastian on drums, Jonathan Olsson on bass and Sebastian Svalland on guitars.
ENSIFERUM is a melodic folk metal band from Finland formed back in 1995 in Helsinki. The band’s name roughly translates from Latin to “sword-bearing” or “sword-bearer”. The band has released eight albums, which the last one is called “Thallasic” that will be promoted on this tour. It’s been five years since Ensiferum came to Croatia so it’s high time for the Croatian fans to see them again. Ensiferum are: Markus Toivonen (guitars, backing vocal), Petri Lindroos (vocals, guitar), Sami Hinkka (bass), Janne Parviainen (drums) and Pekka Montin (keyboards).
ELEINE is a symphonic metal band from Sweden, fronted by their singer Madeleine Liljestam whose nickname coined the name of the band. In their nine-year existence, they have released 4 albums, and their last one “We Shall Remain” saw the light of day this year. They had toured with bands like W.A.S.P., Arch Enemy, Moonspell, Sonata Arctica and Myrath. This will be their second time performing in Croatia.
RYUJIN (formerly known as GYZE, stylized as RYUJIN named after the Japanese dragon god) is a metal band that originated in Hokkaido, Japan. The metal trio consists of Ryoji Shinomoto (guitar/vocals/composer), Shuji Shinomoto (drums) and Aruta Watanabe (bass/vocals). Their style would be categorized as melodic death metal with a touch of folk and power, anime style. They have released four albums and this is their first time in Croatia.
